Bay Rock Magazine Spread

12.26.2007 Bookmark and Share

During my magazine class I had to create a spread for Bay Rock, a fictitious magazine company. I figured a shot of an instrument would work well, but my original image of a saxophone wasn’t doing the trick. I decided to use an extremely large image and crop it down to an area of interest, hoping it would immediately grab the readers’ attention. I used a guitar’s body to shape my text and kept my design simple, letting the image of the guitar do most the talking. The text is purely for mockup purposes and will not read well if at all.

I like this. It's simple but it works, only one suggestion. The last two sentences, you should take the last line and bring it up to complete it because you have an orphan and then 2 words at the end.

That was a careless mistake. "comes from" should have definitely been moved up to the line above, thanks for pointing it out.
